Call it Mason Mania?
Not many people at the beginning of the Steelers season believed the team would be going into the playoffs relying on quarterback Mason Rudolph, and if you did, you’re lying.
After Kenny Pickett went down with an injury and Mitch Trubisky failed to get anything going, Rudolph help ignite the offense and lead the Steelers to three-straight wins.
It’s an unlikely success story, who many fans wrote off Rudolph who had a 5-4-1 record going into this season as the third option for Pittsburgh.
Before this season, his last start was in 2021, a tie against the Detroit Lions while Ben Roethlisberger was out with Covid.
Now, Rudolph has a chance to give the Steelers their first playoff victory in seven years, a game in Buffalo against the Bills this Sunday.
So, what’s this Mason mania?
After fans demanded it, the Steelers Pro Shop has announced they now have #2 Rudolph jerseys for sale.
Donny Football posted on X (formally Twitter) that if the Steelers win this weekend, he’s getting himself one.
Oakmont Bakery is offering Mason Rudolph cupcakes. They’re yellow vanilla batter with chocolate chips with fudge, gold vanilla buttercream icing dipping in chocolate ganache topped with pretzels, a fireball nose and Steelers accents.
If the Steelers make it to the next round, expect to love for Rudolph to get even bigger.
Not bad for a guy that was considering going into real estate.
