PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It was simply that the footing is better on the field at Acrisure Stadium than outdoor right now on the practice fields on the South Side. So, Mike Tomlin moved Wednesday’s practice over to the North Shore.

Tomlin said he didn’t want to just practice inside because that’s not what they are going to face in Buffalo. He wanted the team to have to deal with the elements, which included some wind and occasional rain.

Practice report

Steelers had Minkah Fitzpatrick back to a full practice on Wednesday with the hopes to get him in the game on Sunday.

Also returning, safety Damontae Kazee, who was suspended for the last three games of the regular season for a helmet-to-helmet hit in the Colts game. To make room for Kazee on the roster, safety Trenton Thompson was placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

Wing man

Steelers announced the signing of punter Brad Wing to the practice squad. Tomlin says he doesn’t talk about practice squad moves when asked if he would compete to be the starting punter. Wing punted in two games earlier this year for the Steelers when Pressley Harvin was injured hitting 11 punts for a 45-yard average with three placed inside the 20 and a pair of touchbacks.
