Rapoport: Steelers-Niners have deal in place for Aiyuk

49ers have an offer that would keep the WR in San Francisco

The long Brandon Aiyuk to Pittsburgh saga may soon be over.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Steelers and San Francisco 49ers have a deal in place that would send the star wide receiver to Pittsburgh.

Rapoport says Pittsburgh “is in a good place on an Aiyuk contract, sources say. If SF gives the final sign-off, it’s done.”

But the 49ers also have a long-term offer in place to keep Aiyuk. He has not accepted that yet.

Aiyuk was taken in the first-round of the 2020 draft by the Niners and is set to earn $14.12 million this season, the fifth-year of his rookie deal.

No word yet on what the Steelers will be giving San Francisco for the deal, but Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports the Steelers have a long-term offer in place for Aiyuk that would pay him $28 million a season.

93.7 The Fan’s Andrew Fillipponi reported last week that a deal was in place for Aiyuk.

Aiyuk had 75 catches last season for 1,342 yards with 7 touchdowns. He averaged 17.9 yards a carry, a career high.

Aiyuk went off on the Steelers in Week One of the 2023 season with eight catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns, torching Patrick Peterson for most of the game.

The 26-year-old Aiyuk has improved every year during his first four seasons with the 49ers out of Arizona State.
