PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers will add an outside cornerback taken in this year's NFL Draft and release a slot corner and returner according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Adding him just a couple of weeks ago, the Steelers will release or potentially trade Desmond King while adding corner Darius Rush. The 6'2", 23-year-old Rush was the Colts fifth round pick this year, but released with 10 days to go before the roster deadline in training camp. He was picked up by the Chiefs, released and added to the Kansas City practice squad last month.

Rush played 23 games his last two seasons at South Carolina with 64 tackles, three interceptions and 15 passes defended. He started his college career as a wide receiver, switching while redshirting his freshman season. NFL.com reported pre-draft Rush was a back-up with the potential to develop into a starter. He ran a 4.36, 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine with a 35" vertical and 10'1" broad jump.

He's known as a good tackler with good size, but is already on his third NFL team.

King was a back-up punt returner which could signal Gunner Olszewski remaining active on game days. It also could mean the Steelers will get more aggressive with playing Patrick Peterson in the slot, which would allow for more playing time for Joey Porter, Junior.
