There is the chance they draft a quarterback, but it isn’t a particularly strong class this season and anyone they may be interested will likely be gone by the time Pittsburgh picks at 20.

Another option is going with current QBs Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins, but coaches and players haven’t really been talking up either player.

What is starting to seem like the most likely option is the Steelers either made a trade for a quarterback or sign a free agent.

Names like Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota have been floated around, but on Radio Row of Super Bowl LVI an NFL insider told Andrew Fillipponi there is another name that he is hearing the Steelers may sign.

32-year-old free agent, Tyrod Taylor.

The former Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, L.A. Chargers and Houston Texans quarterback has started in 53 games in his 11-year career.

Most of his success came while with the Bills where he went 22-20 over three seasons.

In his careers, Taylor has 10,736 yards with 59 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.

Both Poni and Chris Mueller believe Taylor would be a one-year Band-Aid. They also agree that Taylor would be an improvement over Rudolph…slightly.

If Taylor is the starter for 2022, the PM team sees the Steelers going 8-9 or 9-8 against.
Another middling season.

The source told Poni, “the report was veteran quarterback, was not great veteran quarterback, it was not franchise quarterback, Tomlin wants a veteran quarterback.”
