Rumor of Rodgers joining Nevillewood shot down, more swirl

We’re heavy into Aaron Rodgers rumors with one of Andrew Fillipponi’s being shot down by KDKA-TV’s Richie Walsh.

Poni said over the weekend that “Rodgers has allegedly joined Nevillewood Country Club.”

Walsh says that the “rumor is NOT true.”

He, along with Joe Starkey, spoke with Nevillewood President Wayne Chiurazzi, who said Rodgers did not join the club.

Walsh adds that someone in the Steelers organization suggested Nevillewood to Rodgers if he does sign with Pittsburgh.

A caller into The Fan Morning Show told Crowley and Dorin said he “ran into” some members of Rodger’s entourage at a sandwich shop in Westmoreland County.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the Steelers are “confident” that if Rodgers doesn’t retire, he will likely sign with the Steelers, with the organization remaining “hopeful.”

Rapoport says the Steelers don’t mind waiting, as long as it ends with the four-time MVP in black and gold.
