The Athletic NFL Insider Dianna Russini has been following the Aaron Rodgers next team saga almost as close as anybody else.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini with the latest on Aaron Rodgers
The latest development is, where Rodgers ends up may come down to what Minnesota does at QB.
Russini posted on “X” Friday afternoon. “The Vikings are having discussions about what they want to do at quarterback and if they want Rodgers.”
She tells the PM Team that it seems like if the Vikings decide they want to sign Rodgers, he will go to Minnesota.
“I think that’s the sense right now, he’s taking his time,” Russini told Poni and Mueller. “I think for him, playing for Kevin O’Connell, playing for that Vikings team is something that interests him but the problem is, the Vikings haven’t come to a decision themselves as an organization.”
If the Vikings decide their future at quarterback doesn’t involve Aaron Rodgers, he will make sure he gets paid.
“Aaron Rodgers isn’t giving anyone a discount,” said Russini.
She doesn’t’ think Rodgers will sing for anything less than the $33 million a year that Same Darnold signed for with Seattle.
But, it may be a while before we know where he’ll end up. “I don’t think we’re going to get a resolution soon.”
