PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Originally a Steelers second round pick, who left and then came back last season. Sean Davis has left again, signing a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts.
The 27-year-old drafted in 2016, starting 40 games in his first three seasons before an injury limited him to one game in 2019. He returned after initially signing with Washington to play in 16 games as mostly a back-up and special teammer.
Davis also hurt by the drafting of Terrell Edmunds in the first round and the trade of the 2020 first round pick to Miami for Minkah Fitzpatrick.
The Maryland star had 259 career tackles with the Steelers over five seasons with 11 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 5 interceptions (3 in 2017), a forced fumble and pair of fumble recoveries.
This comes a day after the Steelers reportedly met with free agent safety Karl Joseph. The former West Virginia all-conference player played four years with the Raiders (first round pick in 2016) and last year started 8 games with the Browns. Joseph, 5’10”, 200 pounds, has 303 career tackles in five seasons with five interceptions and 11 tackles for loss.
