If Browns quarterback Dillion Gabriel is injured or missing a snap, Shedeur Sanders will make his NFL debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Cleveland Head Coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Friday that Sanders will be Gabriel’s backup on Sunday.
The son of Deion Sanders, Shedeur was taken in the 5th-round of the NFL Draft by Cleveland after he continued to fall through the first two days of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Sanders has become QB2 after the Browns first traded Kenny Pickett to Las Vegas and, this past week, traded Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Gabriel, who was taken in the 3rd-round of this year’s draft, has appeared in three games but made his first start this past Sunday in London against the Vikings.
He was 19 of 33 for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
