PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A sixth-round pick by the Eagles last year, the Steelers added linebacker Kyron Johnson to the practice squad today.
The 25-year-old played in 63% of the Eagles special teams snaps last season and played 18 snaps on defense. Since his release on August 29 he's been added or released from the Philadelphia practice squad six times.
The 6'1", 223-pound Texas native played five seasons with the Jayhawks playing 51 games with 193 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, eight forced five passes defended, three forced fumbles. His final season Johnson had 6.5 sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss and four forced fumbles.
