According to a couple reports, the Steelers (Mike Tomlin) really likes Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and if he’s still available at Pick 21 next week, there is a good chance that Deion’s son could be coming to Pittsburgh.
NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay says that Tomlin “really likes Shedeur” and 93.7 The Fan’s Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn told The Morning Show that there is mutual interest between both the Steelers and Sanders.
Poni and Mueller talked about that Tuesday afternoon and Andrew Fillipponi explained why he thinks Tomlin likes Sanders.
Poni speculates that Tomlin is thinking “if I get him here, he’s going to be pro-ready because he’s been around pro football his entire life and I don’t want a project, I want someone who I can play immediately or on standby in case a 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers gets injured this year.”
There isn’t a lot that is “projectable” from Sanders but he has a high floor.
Listen above as Poni explains how Sanders has those “football genetic” Tomlin loves so much and that could be a big reason he wants him in Pittsburgh.
