Steelers continue to win while getting healthy

Tomlin expects Hilton and Wormley back at practice

The Steelers not only continue to win, but they continue to get healthier.

After getting nose tackle Tyson Alualu and fullback/special teamer Derek Watt back in the win over the Bengals, Mike Tomlin expects a pair of veterans to return Sunday in Jacksonville.

Tomlin says slot corner Mike Hilton, who has missed the last four games with a shoulder injury, should practice tomorrow along with backup defensive Chris Wormley who has missed then last 3 games with a knee injury.

Hilton was leading the team in tackles before his injury, so you would expect Hilton will jump right back into then line-up. But Cam Sutton has performed well in that spot, forcing fumbles in 3 straight games.

As for Wormley, he wasn't that productive before he was hurt (3 tackles, 2 QB pressures in 6 games) while Isaiah Buggs stopped Lamar Jackson twice in the fourth quarter in Baltimore and Henry Mondeaux and Carlos Davis each had a tackle for loss in Dallas. So there may not be a place immediately waiting for Wormley.

In fact, Tomlin says that while not beneficial for Hilton and Wormley, the last weeks did help to get younger players valuable reps. "All that does is strengthen us as we get some regulars back and we know with the adversities and challenges that lie ahead that's going to be needed."

Tomlin says RB/special teamers Jaylan Samuels (quad) and Trey Edmunds (hamstring) were banged up against the Bengals so "we'll see where the week takes us with those guys."

The Steelers are 10-point favorites in Jacksonville.
