According to a report, the Steelers have exercised Minkah Fitzpatrick's fifth-year option, guaranteeing he'll be in black and gold through at least the 2022 season.
The move is a no-brainer for the Steelers. Since coming to Pittsburgh in 2019 after a trade with the Miami Dolphins, the 24-year-old safety has nine interceptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns.
He also has two forced fumbles along with three fumble recoveries for 78 yards and one touchdown. He's recorded 79 tackles during his time with the Steelers.
The 11th overall pick in the 2018 draft will make over $2.7 million in 2021 and will make over $10.6 million in 2022.
