Steelers' GM Omar Khan signs extension through 2028

The Steelers’ “Khan artist” isn’t going anywhere.

The team announced Thursday they’ve extended General Manager Omar Khan’s contract an addition three years.

That means Khan will remain the team’s GM through at least the 2028 season.

"I am excited to announce we have signed Omar to a new three-year contract," said Steelers President Art Rooney II via Steelers.com. "Omar and his team have done a great job over the past three years in constructing our roster through the NFL Draft, strategic trades, and free agency. We look forward to continuing that trend that will lead to even more success on the field."

Khan has been the team’s GM since 2022 when he took over for a retiring Kevin Colbert.

Prior to assuming the role as general manager, Kahn worked the numbers for the team when it came to trades, free agency and other deals.

Khan is in his 25th year with the organization.

The Steelers have become a lot more aggressive in free agency and with trades since taking over as GM, adding names like Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and now Aaron Rodgers over his brief tenure.
