PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Room for depth and potentially someone to grow and play opposite of TJ Watt, the Steelers welcomed a late-round outside linebacker for a visit on Tuesday.
Georgia linebacker Robert Beal would not be a player who would step in and play on the edge, but given an opportunity over a couple of years has the physical tools to become that player. He's 6'4", 247 pounds with 34 5/8" arms and a 4.48 40-yard dash. He just looks like a prototypical 3-4 outside linebacker.
He only made 10 starts in five seasons at Georgia, but is that more a testament to the talent on the Bulldogs defense? He should be an immediate fit on special teams and an ability to show his potential.
The Duluth, Georgia native as a five-star recruit out of high school. He played in 54 games at UGA with 72 career tackles (36 solo), 12 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and 20 QB hurries his senior season.
