Steelers make roster moves to make room for kicker Jordan Berry

Kicker Presley Harvin is dealing with a hip injury

After initial reports, the Steelers have officially signed kicker Jordan Berry to the team’s practice squad.

Berry played his first six seasons in the NFL with the Steelers before losing his job to 2021 seventh-round pick Presley Harvin III.

During his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Head Coach Mike Tomlin said that Harvin suffered a hip injury during Thursday night’s loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Berry was released by the Minnesota this past August after spending the 2021 season with the Vikings.

If Harvin can’t play on Sunday against the New York Jets at Acrisure Stadium, Berry will see his first action with the Steelers since 2020.

To make room for Berry, linebacker Delontae Scott was released from the practice squad.

Scott signed to the practice squad in September 2021 and was on the active roster for the team’s Week 11 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

He was waived by the Steelers at the end of the preseason and re-signed to the team’s practice squad.
