The Steelers made several roster moves on Wednesday morning, including the activation of 2025 sixth-round draft pick, quarterback Will Howard.
Howard was activated from the reserve/injured List to the active roster.
To make room for Howard, the Steelers waived running back Trey Sermon.
Howard suffered a hand injury in the preseason.
Cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. was officially signed to the practice squad and defensive back Darrick Forrest was released to make room for Samuel.
Samuel has been fully cleared after spinal fusion surgery this offseason. He only turned 26-years-old last month and was Los Angeles’ second-round pick in 2021 out of Florida State.
He played every game his first three years in the NFL before suffering the injury after the fourth game last year. In his first three seasons, six interceptions, 35 passes defensed and 163 tackles (137 solo).
