PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) Not long after finishing up their roster construction, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced their list of captains for the 2022 season.

Of the five names listed by the Steelers, three of them are first time captains.

Cam Heyward and T.J. Watt are the pair of players reclaiming their roles as leaders; Heyward has been a regular captain since the 2015 season.

The new Steelers captains include quarterback Mitch Trubisky, running back Najee Harris, and safety Miles Killebrew.

Trubisky and Harris will lead the Steelers offence, Watt and Heyward the defense, and Killebrew the special teams.

It isn't a guarantee, but the starting quarterback role seems to be decided with the decision to make Trubisky an offensive captain.

According to Brooke Pryor of ESPN, the Steelers could announce their Week 1 starter as early as Tuesday and it's expected to be Trubisky.
