Steelers officially place two players on reserve/injured list

After it was originally feared that Steelers safety DeShon Elliott would be out for the rest of the season, Head Coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday he was considered week-to-week.

But, on Friday, the Steelers officially placed Elliott on their reserve/injured list.

That means he’ll be out at least four weeks, with the Fan Steelers insider Mark Kaboly, of the Pat McAfee Show, saying he’s likely out for the season.

Tomlin said during his news conference that Elliott had hyper-extended his knee during the Packers game.

Also, as Tomlin announced on Tuesday, defensive lineman Daniel Ekuale was also played on the reserve/injured list.

He is out with an ACL injury and his season is over. Ekuale was also injured during the Packers game.

Stepping in for Elliott will be Kyle Dugger who was traded to Pittsburgh this week in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round draft pick.

The Steelers also get a 2026 seventh-round pick.
