Report: Steelers are one of the teams in talks to acquire WR Davante Adams

The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the teams in contact with the Las Vegas Raiders, interested in a trade for wide receiver Davante Adams.

NFL Insider with The Athletic reports “There have been discussions on both sides,” and there is an “open line of communication”.

Other teams reportedly interested in Adams are the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints.

Adams has told the Raiders he would like to be traded.

He’s currently on the third year of a five-year $140 million deal.

He’s making $16.89 million this season with a $23.35 million cap hit. The next two seasons, he’s set to make over $35.6 million a year with a $44.1 million cap it.

PFF Fantasy and Betting has Pittsburgh as the team with the third-best chance behind the Jets and then the Saints.

The 31-year-old, 11-year NFL veteran is still able to produce averaging over 11.5 yards a catch so far this season.

His career average is 12.3. He has 18 catches for 209 yards so far this season with one touchdown.

Several Steelers insiders have said Adams would make the team the favorite in the AFC North and one of the top 3 to 5 teams in the AFC.
