PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It’s part of a 93.7 The Fan series of pros and cons for Steelers free agents to be.

S-Sean Davis

BIO-A second round pick of the Steelers in 2016, Davis started 41 games for the Steelers before an injury in 2019 caused the Steelers to acquire Minkah Fitzpatrick.  The former Alabama star burst onto the scene and Davis was out of a job.  The Washington DC native signed with the Washington Football Club in the off-season only to be unseated by Mt. Lebanon grad Troy Apke.  Davis was quickly signed back by the Steelers.  He played in 16 games, starting one.  The Maryland star had 12 tackles and a fumble recovery, playing 211 special teams snaps.

FOR-Five years of experience under Keith Butler and Mike Tomlin’s defense.  His starting experience makes him valuable if he’s willing to sign for the $910,000 again, he is a nice keep.

AGAINST-Davis could be looking for a starting role and that’s unlikely unless there is an injury.  Steelers could want to get younger than the 27-year-old.

PREDICTION-Like last season, Davis will search for a starting role with another team.
