PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – With Joey Porter, Junior gone and Jamel Dean likely out a couple of weeks due to injury, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reports the Steelers signed veteran corner Sean Murphy-Bunting off the Tampa Bay practice squad.
The 29-year-old missed 2025 with an ACL tear, In 2024, he started 15 games for the Cardinals with three interceptions and 52 tackles. A second-round pick of the Bucs in 2019, he’s played in 82 NFL games (65 starts) with 11 interceptions and 34 passes defensed with 297 tackles.
Currently the Steelers two Steelers likely starting corners are Asante Samuel, Junior (who the Steelers signed after a season-ending injury the year before) and rookie Daylen Everette. Doneiko Slaughter was signed off the practice squad and can work corner, as could either of the slot defensive backs Jalen Ramsey and Brandin Echols.
Steelers host Indianapolis on Sunday.
