PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Last year he was quietly the most consistent starter on the Steelers offensive line. On Monday guard Trai Turner signed with the Washington Commanders.

Turner gets the same deal he got with the Steelers last year, one-year, $3 million.

The 28-year-old started every game in 2021 and was ranked the 31st overall guard in the league by Pro Football Focus.  Turner had expressed interest in returning to the Steelers, but when the team signed free agents Mason Cole and James Daniels, that closed opportunities in Pittsburgh.

Running back Mike Davis signed a two-year, $5.5 million contract with the Falcons last year and news Monday he will be released.  The 29-year-old rushed for 503 yards and three touchdowns in Atlanta last season averaging 3.6 yards a carry.  Davis caught 44 passes for another 259 yards and a score.

The former fourth-round pick rushed for 642 yards and six touchdowns for Carolina in 2020 and has also played for the Niners, Seahawks and Bears.

The 5'9", 220-pounder rushed for 2,440 yards and 22 touchdowns with 70 receptions for 755 yards in the better part of two seasons at the University of South Carolina.
