The Steelers will have new throwback uniforms this season.
Steelers President Art Rooney mentioned during an interview on the team’s website that they’ll wear the yet unknown new threads during their Sunday Night Football game at home against the Green Bay Packers on October 26.
The Fan Morning Show talked about the possibilities.
Adam Crowley said he hopes it isn’t the 1933 original jerseys that feature the City of Pittsburgh’s seal, mentioned by A
“It is one of the most disgusting uniform you would ever lay your eyes on,” said Crowley. “They’re awful.”
Worn in 1994, Alex Kozora of Steelers Depot said “they’re hideous and yes, I love them.”
But, Rooney did say they would be new throwback uniforms, so it could be something we’ve never seen the team wear before.
The Steelers don’t have a lot of options left for a “new” throwback uniform, so we’ll find out in July, when they announce it, what the new unis are.
Steelers reporter Michael Beck points out there is one that was rumored last year that the team hasn’t used yet.
The Steelers are also expected to have a new helmet design for the game.
The last alternate helmet split the fanbase, the all-gold helmets that went with the “bumble bee throwbacks.”
