Surprise guest! Big Ben visits during Steelers practice

The future Hall of Famer was all smiles on Wednesday

A familiar face was at Steelers practice on Wednesday.

18-year veteran and two-time Super Bowl Champion Ben Roethlisberger was all smiles on the sidelines.

Wearing a blue t-shirt, khaki shorts and a black hat, the future Hall of Famer was seen smiling with wide receiver Chase Claypool, captured by ESPN's Brooke Pryor.

Roethlisberger was also captured by the Post-Gazette's Matt Freed embracing head coach Mike Tomlin, running back Najee Harris, offensive coordinator Matt Canada and owner Art Rooney II.

The Post-Gazette's Brian Batko was in the scrum with Tomlin after the practice.

Tomlin confirmed that Roethlisberger was just watching practice.

"I promise you he was a casual spectator. It's good to see the big boy."

First round draft pick Kenny Pickett was happy to see Roethlisberger at practice.

"It was great to see him come back around. I hope he's around again and I can meet with him a little bit."

It's the first time Big Ben has been with the team since he retired this past January after their Wild Card loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Roethlisberger was also seen playing a game with special teams coach Danny Smith.

Roethlisberger holds the Steelers all-time passing record with 64,088 yards, 418 touchdowns, 5,440 completions and is the winningest QB in franchise history going 165-81-1.
