Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his play during the team's 26-21 win against the Denver Broncos Sunday.
Watt was credited with 2.5 sacks on Jeff Driskel, who came into the game after Drew Lock left injured. Those sacks resulted in a loss of 20 yards.
Even without fans, Watt says he still prefers to play at Heinz Field.
"I still prefer playing at home, no doubt, it's awesome to be able to be in our locker room, be at Heinz Field, listen to all the third down chants and everything that they pump in through and our guys do a great job on the sideline while our defense is out there keeping the energy up so yeah I love playing at home," said Watt.
Watt was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month last November and received the Player of the Week honors two times during the 28 season.
In the fourth year of his NFL career, Watt has started in all 49 games he has played in, recording 37 sacks and 182 combined tackles. He has 76 quarterback hits, 15 forced fumbles and four interceptions as well.
