Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has confirmed that Zach Banner will start at right tackle on Monday night, beating out Chukwuma Okorafor.
Banner hinted at the move on social media on Tuesday when he said, "Everyday I'm proving a hater wrong. Keep the fuel coming though. Don't stop now."
Tomlin didn't say what Banner did to beat out Okorafor .
There have also been reports that guard David DeCastro will not play on Monday, but Tomlin says he's still not sure if he will play or not, adding he is comfortable with the guys lined up behind him.
Tomlin also commented on Ryan Shazier's retirement announcement saying that Shazier was a "quality player yes but a quality man also."
Tomlin says Shazier continues to have a lasting impact on the team.
"It's something that young guys today even do that didn't have an opportunity to play with him, guys like Devin Bush, takes a daily approach that really is crafted by Ryan Shazier from a preparation standpoint," said Tomlin.
