Sounds like first-year offensive coordinator Matt Canada will return next season and defensive coordinator Keith Butler could possibly retire.
Asked about Canada during his final press conference of the season, Tomlin said, "I'm optimistic about Matt in what he's capable of doing, I acknowledge that we took a step back."
Tomlin adds that there were "tangible" reasons that the offense struggled this season.
While he wouldn't elaborate, a big reason for the lack of success is the poor play of the offensive line. Add to that a 39-year-old quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger and his limited mobility.
"Matt Canada brings things to the table that are attractive," Tomlin added.
Tomlin also said he talked to Butler about his future.
"Butts has had conversations about this being potentially his last year, he and I hadn't had an opportunity to sit down," said Tomlin.
Tomlin said they need to get better on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
While Tomlin says he isn't "anticipating" any changes to his staff, he added he won't be surprised if there are.
