Tomlin indicates that Fitzpatrick may play this week

It was expected that Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick would likely miss this Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but the way Head Coach Mike Tomlin was talking during his weekly news conference, it seems like he'll be back.

"Reports regarding Minkah and his inclusion this week are really positive, I know that's he's already been here and run today," said Tomlin.

Tomlin added that Fitzpatrick wanted to play Sunday after undergoing an appendectomy on Saturday.

He said he wasn't feeling well after walk-throughs, preparing for the New Orleans Saints, when it was found he needed the surgery after it was revealed he was dealing with appendicitis.

An appendectomy usually takes multiple weeks for recovery, but the way Tomlin is talking maybe we will see Fitzpatrick against the AFC North foe.

Other injuries include offensive lineman Kevin Dotson with a hip injury, Tomlin says he may be limited at the beginning of the week.

Running back Najee Harris has a knee issue, but doesn't expect it to have much impact on his ability to play on Sunday.

Ahkello Witherspoon is still dealing with a hamstring injury that has caused him to miss multiple games.

He didn't mention names, but said some other players are suffering from "bumps and bruises associated with play" but doesn't expect those to have much impact on availability.
