Not much is changing when it comes to the Steelers lineup against the Eagles Thursday night in Philadelphia.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin said that quarterback Mason Rudolph will once again get the start over Dwayne Haskins and Josh Dobbs.
That means Haskins won't get a chance to play with the starters again.
Ben Roethlisberger will likely not play again after also not playing in the Hall of Fame game last week.
The Fan's sports director Jeff Hathhorn speculated last week that if Rudolph gets the start again, it could indicate that he's the #2 heading into the regular season, with Dobbs and Haskins competing for the 3rd spot.
There have also been rumors that Roethlisberger may not play at all in the preseason, something that would be a bit puzzling considering the additions of players like running back Najee Harris and tight end Pat Freiermuth along with a completely different offensive line.
It would make sense for Roethlisberger to, at the very least, get a few series with the first team on offense.
While Roethlisberger won't play again, Tomlin will still play Harris.
Asked if he would consider scaling back Harris' play in the preseason after seeing him play against Dallas Tomlin simply said, "no."
Tomlin expects players who missed due to injury could get some playing time on Thursday and that different faces will be seen but veterans like Cam Heyward and Joe Haden will once again not dress.
