PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Three NFL coaches were fined 100, 000 dollars for not wearing masks on the sideline during games this weekend.
It included a fine from a coach not doing so at Heinz Field, but it wasn’t on the Steelers sideline, rather Denver head coach Vic Fangio. The Broncos, as an organization, were also fined $250,000.
While loss of money maybe somewhere in Tomlin’s mind about keeping his mask on, he says he is just being respectful during these times.
“For me personally, I’m just thankful to be working,” Tomlin said. “A lot of us are not able to in this pandemic circumstance. I don’t take that for granted.”
“I just want to show a good example and show that I’m thankful for working. I try to be as diligent as I can.”
Along with Fangio, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and Seattle head coach Pete Carroll were also docked for not following the rules.
There may be more fines coming, as the Raiders Jon Gruden and New Orleans head coach Sean Payton were not wearing masks at times Monday night.
