It’s still unknown what was said between a Lions fan, identified as Ryan Kennedy, and Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf that resulted in a physical altercation between the two in Detroit on Sunday afternoon.
The situation ended with Metcalf appearing to throw a punch toward the fan.
According to reports, sources close to Metcalf say the incident escalated after the man used offensive, racist language.
Speaking through a lawyer, Kennedy denied any racial or misogynistic language.
The NFL suspended Metcalf for two games with the Steelers WR appealing the suspension.
Now, fan video released on social media shows footage taken from the stands after the incident that appears to show the fan yelling “That was the goal baby.”
It doesn’t explain or condone what Metcalf did, but it could possibly show the motives the fan had in engaging with the WR.
