PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Before the injury report even comes out, some good news for the Steelers Friday as outside linebacker TJ Watt confirmed he will play in the game on Sunday.
Watt said he had tightness with his groin last week. Due to the short week before playing the Vikings he was never able to fully recover and hence why he left the game last Thursday. He said the groin feels better now and he will play against the Titans.
"It's not like I'm trying to get hurt," Watt said. "I'm trying to do everything I can to play and perform. Sometimes the soft tissue stuff is tough to really pinpoint how or what's happening. I wish I had the answer, obviously I would fix it."
He does have more answers when it comes to the slow starts on the defensive end.
"There is no discussion to be had anymore," Watt said. "We just need to start faster. It's quite obvious we know we need to do it better. We can talk as much as we want but until we do it. It's all about actions. It's all about practice. How we study film and all of the small things that you have to keep harping on. Nothing needs to be said because we all understand."
Watt says he is stays in touch with Tennessee linebacker and former Steelers OLB Bud Dupree and is looking forward to seeing him on Sunday. Called him an all-around great guy. Dupree is currently on injured reserve, but has started practicing again.
