PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers Pro Bowl linebacker TJ Watt was at practice on Friday, but is officially ruled out for Sunday in Detroit. He wasn’t the only one who will miss game 15. And along with three out, outside linebacker Nick Herbig is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
Starting quarter Isaac Seumalo is out with a triceps injury and likely Spencer Anderson moves to left guard with Dylan Cook at left tackle or Andrus Peat plays left guard or could play there occasionally with Anderson as the extra blocker.
James Pierre became the Steelers starting corner a couple of weeks ago, he will miss his second straight game due to a calf injury. Asante Samuel is likely to take his spot again this week.
If Herbig can’t go look for look for rookie Jack Sawyer to start. Even if Herbig can go, it might be as a more situational pass-rusher with Sawyer getting more snaps.
Center Zach Frazier was able to return to full practice on Friday after missing Thursday due to a triceps injury.
