Four simple words from recently released defensive end J.J.
Watt once again sent Twitter into speculation mode, including his own brother.

“Free agency is wild,” Watt said in a tweet Wednesday afternoon, prompting thousands of retweet and replies.

T.J. quoted the tweet with a gif of a smiling Willy Wonka and the phrase “please, tell us more.”

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert was asked about possibility bringing in Watt but says they don’t talk about what kind of conversations they may or may not be having with certain players.

“It’s my job and our personnel department’s job to know when a player gets cut, who that player is and how he could possibly fit into this,” said Colbert. “We anticipate a lot of players getting cut in the next few weeks, as team’s come to the realization of what the cap may be and for each and every player that gets cut we will put those players into the free agency group that we know have their contracts coming to an end.”

Colbert adds saying anything about J.J. would be “just speculation at this point.”

Of course the responses on Twitter to Watt were mainly people begging him to come to their town with Bengals, Browns, Steelers, Packers, Bills, Eagles and more pleading their case.

Pro Football Focus simply asked if he was going to his hometown or to join his brothers.
