Steelers cornerback Beanie Bishop just made life a lot harder for himself.
Pitt GM Doug Whaley on Beanie Bishop wiping his feet on Pitt logo
The former West Virginia Mountaineer posted an Instagram story of him wiping his cleats on the Pitt logo on the floor at the South Side facility that the Panthers and Steelers share.
The video has a location marker of “University of Pittsburgh” with Pittsburgh covered by a poop emoji.
The Mountaineers and Panthers are heated rivals with the Backyard Brawl one of the best rivalries in college football.
Bishop only spent one season with West Virginia.
Pitt Football General Manager Doug Whaley and The Fan Morning Show says the Steelers were allowed in the Pitt locker room to film some footage with players for upcoming Sunday Night Football games.
“I can’t defend Beanie Bishop,” said host Adam Crowley and noted WVU fanatic.
Whaley says he was at the facility yesterday.
“When you get invited into someone’s house . . . that locker room, you have to give it mad respect and for them to be invited guests over and for him to do this, it just shows how unprofessional, but to the core, what type of person he is,” said Whaley. “We hate each other on the field but we respect the rivalry off the field.”
Whaley says the move isn’t a smart one, with his current position with the Steelers.
“Beanie Bishop, that’s fighting . . . to stay on this roster, to do something like that,” said Whaley.
He adds it’s like a parent haven’t to remind their kids to be nice and respectful when you visit someone else’s house.
“You don’t think you got to say that to a professional football player that’s 20-something-years-old, but I guess they have to,” added Whaley.
Host Dorin Dickerson says that Bishop is going to “have to move mountain” to make the Steelers in 2025.
