PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) Set to kick off their comeback season in in April, the Pittsburgh Maulers are closing in on building their roster for the year.
They may not be wearing black and gold, but the Maulers could find themselves some former Steelers representation.
One of the most important positions on the football field is the man under center at quarterback.
While fans wait for the announcement of a roster, there are already some names that may find themselves in purple and orange.
Potential Week 1 QBs for the Maulers include:
Jimmy Clausen
Brock Osweiler
Johnny Manziel
Paxton Lynch
Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges
There are other names but these are definite money makers in the position.
Some have more skill than others, but others will for sure put butts in seats.
Hodges was last seen playing football with the Ottawa Redblacks of the CFL.
Most known for his six game run with the Steelers in 2019, Hodges would bring a taste of hometown flair to the Maulers.
Lynch is another name that coasted with the Steelers as part of a quarterbacks depth chart.
Clausen and Osweiler are options with a short history of playing quarterback at the NFL level.
Then there’s Johnny Football; could former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel represent Pittsburgh as a member of the Maulers?
The skill under center may not be there, but he sure would sell tickets and put eyes on the team.
