This is a developing story: According to a report, The Penguins are trading Patric Hornqvist to Florida.

NHL Network’s Kevin Weekes reports that the forward is going to the Panthers in exchange for defenseman Mike Matheson.

Other reports say the trade has not gone through yet.

Horqvist has a no-trade clause in his contract, that could be the reason for the hold up.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now's Dan Kingerski reports the team is trying to get a hold of Hornqvist to see if he approves of the trade.

In five seasons, Matheson has 33 goals and 58 assists for 91 points. He is also a -30 over his career. He has had three straight seasons with 20 or more points.

The move would make the Penguins younger with Matheson at 26. The Penguins would control Matheson for the next five seasons.

The trade is still on hold and is being accredited to an insurance issue with the contract.

According to Elliot Friedman, Hornqvist's no-trade clause is not contributing to the delay.

Hornqvist will be 34 when the next season starts and has a history with injuries.

In 12 years in the NHL, Hornqvist has 238 goals and 242 assists for 480 points.
