
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – First time in the Horizon League Tournament championship game, Robert Morris beats Youngstown State 89-78 to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since COVID-19 shutdown the 2020 season.
The Colonials have won 16 of its last 17 games to not only win the Horizon League Tournament, but also the regular season title. Counting 2020, it’s the 10th NCAA appearance for Robert Morris and fifth time for Andy Toole, three as head coach.
Tuesday night in Indianapolis RMU never trailed getting out to an 11-0 lead and shot 47% for the game, including 11-22 from three-point range. Balanced scoring as every Colonials starter scored in double figures led by Josh Omojafo with 24 points (11-14 free throws) and 13 rebounds, Kam Woods with 17 points, six rebounds, five assists, Alvaro Folgueiras with 14 points, seven assists and five rebounds, Amarion Dickerson with 13 points and five rebounds and DJ Smith with 11 points and six assists.
