PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Their second time drafting a quarterback in 2025, the Browns end the speculation around Shedeur Sanders by picking him with the 144th overall pick.
The Colorado quarterback was projected by ESPN’s Mel Kiper as the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, but was selected after Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel by his own team. Cleveland’s quarterback room includes a pair of former Pitt quarterbacks-Kenny Pickens and Ravens Super Bowl champion Joe Flacco, Sanders, Gabriel and Deshaun Watson.
Shedeur’s stats
In 50 career games, Sanders threw for 14,353 yards and 134 touchdowns between Colorado and Jackson State. He threw at least one TD pass in 49 straight games. Just with the Buffaloes, Sanders completed 72% of his passes for 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He broke over 100 Colorado school records winning the Jonny Unitas Award as the top quarterback in college football in 2024 and was the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year throwing for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns to 10 interceptions while completing 74% of his passes.
