PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - Steelers linebacker Avery Williamson joins The PM Team with Andrew Fillipponi and Chris Mueller every Tuesday at 3pm, but this weeks visit was very different than any other in that it's the first time he's coming off a loss as a member of the Steelers.
Following the teams 23-17 loss to the Washington Football Team, Williamson described his state of mind following the game.
"I was really just in shock that we lost. I really wasn't expecting us to lose, but we didn't play our best football."
Avery may have more opportunities to take out any frustration next week with Robert Spillane reportedly going to miss some time with a knee injury. He told us what he's expecting.
"I guess we'll see. I'm definitely planning on playing a lot."
Avery was also asked about the "administrative issues" that gave the Redskins a free timeout and allowed them to kick a field goal to end the half. Also, Avery reacts to his former defensive coordinator with the Jets, Gregg Williams, getting fired about a ridiculous play call that cost them the game last week.
