
The Pittsburgh Maulers are back!

The independent, United States Football League will be resurrected next April and the Maulers were announced Monday as one of the eight teams that will debut in April in the North Division.
Who will run the Maulers and where they will play have not yet been disclosed, but the Sports Business Journal reports that all teams will play in one central location in its first year.
It has been reported the games will be played at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama.
The original Maulers were founded in April 1983 and only played in the USFL for one season before folding in 1984.
The Maulers went 3-15 in the Atlantic Division that season.
The team’s new logo and is updated version of the original.
The latest version of the USFL will have a 12-week schedule. The new league will be run by FOX Sports and will use NFL rules.
The league will focus on younger players.
The original USFL ran from 1983 through 1985.
