The New Orleans Saints are still a few days away from the debut of Jameis Winston as starting QB, but their former passer got to the stage on Thursday.
Drew Brees was smiling and stretching out his shoulder, jokingly of course, for the first time ahead of a regular season NFL matchup.
"I'm not gonna lie, I see the guys warming up behind me. I feel like I should be out here getting warmed up," Brees said to Mike Tirico, also Brees' broadcast partner for play-by-play of Notre Dame games.

Tirico jokingly settled Brees back into his seat and the Thursday edition of the Sunday Night Football broadcast carried on. Despite the title, the game was played several days ahead of Sunday.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys were facing off in that matchup to open the NFL season.
The Saints begin its schedule on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, a game that will be played in Jacksonville due to Hurricane Ida.
