Luke Combs helped a girl have the time of her life during his show in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday night, July 23, when he brought her on stage to experience being in front of a crowd of literally tens of thousands of people.
Last summer, then sixteen-year-old Addi Conely from Eastvale, CA was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia, and for the past year, her family has balanced her treatments with helping her check off bucket list items: A hot air balloon ride, an RV trip up the coast, and this week, a surprise trip to Ohio to see the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year.
"This is my friend Addi," Luke announced from onstage as he introduced the seventeen-year-old, before singing her favorite song, "Better Together," to her, causing Addi's bonus mom Staci to describe it as "literally the best night of our lives.....Her smile says it all!"
"Last night was a dream unfolding right in front of our eyes," Staci told Audacy staff. "Luke and his entire team were incredible and so loving. They all connected with each one of us on a level that was beyond our wildest dreams."
You can help Addi and other cancer patients by becoming a regular blood donor and signing up for the #BeTheMatch bone marrow registry. If you choose to donate blood at City of Hope, be sure to mention #TeamAddi! You can follow Addi's journey (and love of Edible Arrangements) here.
