IHOP Giving Away Free Short Stacks, Chance to Win 'Pancakes for Life' for National Pancake Day

DETROIT (WWJ) – It’s one of the sweetest days of the year!

Tuesday, February 25 is National Pancake Day and to celebrate, IHOP restaurants across the country are giving away FREE short stacks of buttermilk pancakes.

In return for the free pancakes, guests are encouraged to make a voluntary donation for charities that include Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Shriners Hospitals for Children, according to a press release.

The National Pancake Day celebration runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Limit one short stack, three pancakes, per guest. The fundraiser lasts until 10 p.m. at select locations.

This year, the chain is also offering a brand new opportunity: every guest who participates is eligible to enter a sweepstakes for the chance to win Pancakes for Life, or one of over 250,000 other instant prizes including bikes, scooters and watches.

Now in its 15th year, the annual event has raised more than $30 million for charities to-date, and is hoping to raise $4 million more this year.
