Ever since David Bowie passed away in 2016 fans have been begging for any content related to the iconic singer. Now, a new movie about Bowie is in the works that will give fans a never-before-seen look at the artist.
While there have been documentaries and films made about David Bowie in the past, director Brett Morgen promises this one will definitely be different. Morgen claims to have spent the last four years combing through thousands of hours of Bowie footage, some rare and some never before seen.
He describes the film as “neither documentary nor biography, but an immersive cinematic experience built, in part, upon thousands of hours of never before seen material.”
According to NME, Morgen is aiming for an IMAX release and possibly a January premiere at Sundance. Bowie’s longtime producer Tony Visconti will also be involved with the project. For Bowie fans, they may finally get the film they’ve always wanted.
