Good thing these two are longtime pals!
George Clooney got a little playful ribbing in with his his “Ticket to Paradise” co-star, Julia Roberts, on the red-carpet premiere of the movie.
Speaking to E! News on said carpet, Clooney joked, “I’m here with Julia Roberts. She’s an actress. She’s an up-and-comer–I didn’t say ingenue, let me try again.”
The actor then took a beat, returned and gave it another shot.
“Hi, I’m with Julia Roberts,” he said. “She’s a young ingenue.”
Clooney and Roberts have appeared in six movies together, including “Ticket to Paradise” and “Ocean’s Twelve.” The friends and coworkers broke down how they can get the other to laugh while on set together.
“Well, first of all, not seeing each other for 19 of those 20 years,” Clooney quipped, which got a look from Roberts. “I’m kidding! We try not to laugh.”
“We don’t try to sabotage the other one,” Roberts added.
Clooney kept acting up, sneaking behind Roberts and popping his head out each side of her body, saying, “if we were to, it would be me standing behind her and doing things like this as she was doing an interview.”
Roberts could only say, “There’s no way this movie is going to start on time if this is how we’re going conduct our interviews.”
