Obviously divorce is never easy, and while both parties involved have chosen to publicly speak on the matter, the way in which they’ve chosen to do so have been completely different.
Kanye’s chosen method —Instagram captions and lots of screenshots, while Kim (aside from that one IG story responding to Ye’s claims) has chosen to do so in the pages of Vogue magazine.
During the interview portion of Kim’s Vogue March cover story, the topic of her marriage came up... naturally. As always Kim was an open book, sharing all about her epiphany that led her to prioritize her own happiness, which contributed to her decision to split from West after nearly seven years of marriage.
As reveled in the publications pages (both print and digital), Kim’s view on life has shifted. As she relayed, over the past couple of years, she realized that she needed to put her happiness first. Obviously her kids come first, but that aside, she’s been following through with that plan.
Through this realization, Kim knew that she had to split from Kanye. "For so long, I did what made other people happy and I think in the last two years I decided, I'm going to make myself happy," she told the outlet. "And that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it's important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy.”
Now focused on doing that which makes her happy and "being Team Me," Kim’s plan to be her best self starts off simple — "eat well, work out, have more fun," and "spend more time with my kids and the people that make me happy. I've chosen myself. I think it's okay to choose you."
Though she didn’t drop names (*cough* Pete Davidson), she did go on to mention a recent trip to the Bahamas that checked all her happiness boxes. Explaining, "I was in the Bahamas, and the people I was with said, 'We're on f***ing vacation. We haven't been on vacation in a long time.' And then they threw their phones in the ocean. I was like, 'What? What? What? Am I allowed to do that?’”
As a result of her some of the photographs featured throughout the spread, Kanye once again turned too IG, sharing the pics alongside the caption "GOD PLEASE BRING OUR FAMILY BACK TOGETHER.”
Unlike Kanye’s ever-changing feelings on the matter of feeling the need to still be with Kim, his soon to be ex wife has remained steadfast with hers. Describing their current co-parenting dynamic, Kardashian told Vogue, ”You could be so hurt or angry at your ex, but I think in front of the kids, it always has to be 'Your dad's the best.’ Make sure you are your co-parent's biggest cheerleader," she added. "No matter what you're personally going through."
