The iconic band, formed in 1983, will receive the 2,717th star bestowed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Hollywood Historic Trust during a special unveiling ceremony on Thursday, March 31 at 11:30AM PST to be attended by P-Funk’s George Clinton, Woody Harrelson, Bob Forrest, and host Nicole Mihalka. Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said in a statement, “Our hometown Hollywood boys are finally coming to collect their star... We have been waiting for them to break away from their busy schedules to dedicate their star, and we are thrilled to welcome them to our Walk of Fame family.”
Fans will be able to find the Chili Peppers’ star located on the historic landmark at 6212 Hollywood Blvd., beside another California institution, the famous Amoeba Records, and will be sandwiched between Wheel Of Fortune's Pat Sajak and late talk show host Jack Paar’s stars.
The honor comes at just the right time as RHCP's 2022 record Unlimited Love is scheduled for release on April 1. Listen to the brand new singles "Poster Child," and "Black Summer" now.
To celebrate the album, the band will head out on a massive tour this summer bringing along the likes of Beck, The Strokes, St. Vincent, A$AP Rocky, HAIM, King Princess, and more. Grab your tickets right here.
