The Red Hot Chili Peppers received their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today during an official unveiling ceremony. Now that the star is set into the famed stretch, the band’s Anthony Kiedis and Flea told Audacy’s host Klein what they want people to do at their Hollywood star.

“I would like them to not take themselves too seriously on the star,” said Anthony. “And maybe just get a little buzz from cruising over the star. [Think] like, ‘Oh, if those guys can do it, we can definitely do it.”
Flea added, “The star is for everybody to do whatever they want.”
Clearly remaining humble on their big day, both musicians are just thankful to have support and love from their loyal fan base and radio station’s like Audacy’s KROQ.
“We just care, you know?” Said Anthony. “We care about the people that came, we care about the music that we make and we care about the vessels we use to communicate with and we’re grateful to KROQ for being such a profound one for us, thank you.”
The Chili Peppers’ star is the 2,717th bestowed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Hollywood Historic Trust. Watch their talk with KROQ above.
